WILLEMSTAD – ZAir has reached a significant milestone with the arrival of its first jet, an Embraer 140, at Curaçao International Airport on Saturday afternoon (local time). A large group of employees gathered on the tarmac to welcome the new aircraft, marking an exciting moment for the airline.

The arrival of the Embraer 140 represents a major step forward for ZAir, as the jet can accommodate up to 44 passengers. It is now the largest aircraft in the airline's fleet, allowing ZAir to expand its operations to longer-distance destinations.

Initially, the jet will operate flights to Medellín and Sint Maarten, with plans to add more new destinations in the future. A second Embraer 140 is expected to be flown to Curaçao soon, further expanding ZAir's capabilities.

René Winkel, the CEO of ZAir, expressed great satisfaction with the arrival of the aircraft, noting that much work has been done behind the scenes in recent months to prepare for the introduction of this new aircraft type.

Additionally, a group of pilots has already completed their training for the Embraer 140, ensuring the airline is ready for the new phase of operations.
