WILLEMSTAD – On December 27, for the second time this year, our Cardiology team led by Dr. Olivier Witte implanted the world’s smallest pacemaker in a patient. This pacemaker, Micra®, is implanted in patients that experience a heart rhythm that is too slow. With this particular pacemaker, the patient has fewer chances of complications or infections and also less chance for scarring. The procedure takes one hour.
