WiFi installed at Advent School Mahuma; improved power supply for Koraalspecht campus

Local | By Correspondent November 14, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Since this summer, the Advent School in Mahuma has been equipped with a fully functioning WiFi network. Previously, the school had internet access, but the WiFi coverage was inadequate in many classrooms. Meanwhile, at the Advent School Koraalspecht, the power supply to the computer lab was upgraded in early November. The computers had been unusable for a long time due to an unstable power supply.

These improvements were made possible through a donation from BTC Curaçao, an organization promoting the use of Bitcoin on the island. As a token of appreciation, the Advent School presented a gift to BTC Curaçao, who subsequently issued a press release about the project.

BTC Curaçao frequently assists schools with enhancing internet and computer access, as many institutions have internet service but lack consistent WiFi coverage throughout their facilities. The organization provides financial support for these initiatives, which are coordinated by Ace Suares of Suares Projects, with additional help from a volunteer who offers ICT support to the Advent Schools. Local companies contributed to the technical installation.

BTC Curaçao emphasizes that access to digital resources is fundamental for improving educational opportunities for all students.
