WILLEMSTAD - The WETO neighborhood team has emerged victorious in the first phase of the "Van Straat naar Stadion" (from street to stadium) project. In a series of thrilling matches, 14 neighborhoods competed for the top spot, with WETO standing out for its teamwork, resilience, and love for the game.
Remko Bicentini, who oversees the project through Fundashon Bicentini, emphasized that the initiative is not just about winning, but also about fostering connections between neighborhoods. "Sport is used as a tool to promote respect and collaboration. WETO has shown how sports can bring people together," Bicentini stated.
