WILLEMSTAD - The Week of Crisis Management and Crisis Communication will officially kick off this Sunday at the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort, bringing together experts and officials from across the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The conference aims to strengthen cooperation in disaster response and improve coordination during emergencies.
The Kingdom-wide event will unite policymakers, emergency services and partner organizations from both the Caribbean and the European Netherlands. Key themes include preparedness, information-sharing and joint response strategies — all crucial elements for effectively managing crises in a region increasingly exposed to natural and man-made threats.
Focus on Climate Risks and Cybersecurity Two keynote speakers will address the most urgent risks facing the Caribbean. Albert Martis of the Meteorological Department Curaçao will discuss the growing impact of climate change on the region, including more intense storms, rising temperatures and shifting weather patterns.
