Watch out for social isolation

WILLEMSTAD - “We must be careful that introducing social distance does not lead to social isolation of people who continue to need help, such as the elderly or people with a visual impairment.

That was stated by the Fundashon Nos Grandinan yesterday. According to the organization, no people should be left to fend for themselves.

As is known, one of the measures announced by the government is that visits are not allowed to nursing homes. But the Fundashon Nos Grandinan says that even though it’s not allowed to visit these elderly people, there are other ways to help them. Or to contact them. “We must become more creative and don’t let social distancing become social isolation!”
