WILLEMSTAD – On Monday, March 16, 2026, a group of dedicated volunteers, led by Sonali Daou, paid a special visit to the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Lucille George-Wout.
During the meeting, the group discussed their joint efforts to raise funds and organize initiatives in support of the Princess Wilhelmina Cancer Fund Curaçao, of which the Governor serves as patron.

Daou was accompanied by Christina Bakhuis, Connie Padillia, Silliany Royer, Liesl Dijkhuizen, and Haitam Metry. The group has been actively volunteering for some time, organizing creative and community-driven activities to raise awareness about cancer prevention and generate funds for the foundation.
In the past, the group has organized several successful events. A notable highlight was a fashion event held on October 5, 2019, in the gardens of the Governor’s Palace. The event not only raised a significant amount of funds but also generated widespread public attention for the work of the foundation.
Looking ahead, the group is now preparing for a new special edition of the event scheduled for October this year. During their discussion with the Governor, they reviewed the preparations and expressed their ambition to once again make a meaningful contribution to the important work of the Princess Wilhelmina Cancer Fund Curaçao.
