Voluntary layoffs at Flow

Local | By Correspondent July 13, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - Telecommunications and internet provider Flow has implemented a voluntary layoff program. 21 employees working at branches in Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and Bonaire have chosen to leave the company. Farley Felicia, Chairman of the Sitkom labor union, informed that the layoffs were not initiated by the company.

According to Felicia, the employees themselves requested to resign. In response, the telecommunications company implemented a layoff plan, which was carried out at the end of June. Felicia stated that Flow cannot afford to lose more employees than they currently have, as it would hinder their ability to provide quality services.

After the holiday period, plans for a new employee indexation will be further developed. Negotiations are currently underway, as there is still inflation to consider, which also affects Flow employees.
