Visit of Prince Louis X.M. Guillaume of Luxembourg to Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent November 12, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - At the invitation of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Sithree van Heydoorn, Prince Louis Xavier Marie Guillaume of Luxembourg will visit Curaçao from November 13 to 16. This visit follows a working trip by Minister van Heydoorn and his delegation to Luxembourg in June, where they held discussions with institutions focused on primary, special, and higher education. The primary goal of these meetings was to explore a software system called Magrid Learning Solution.

Magrid is a math software designed for children aged 3 to 9, aimed at enhancing their mathematical knowledge and cognitive skills. Notably, the software is language-independent, providing equal learning opportunities for all children regardless of their proficiency in Papiamentu, Dutch, or any other language. It is an inclusive tool that supports children with various needs, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, language disorders, Down syndrome, and hearing impairments.

During the visit, Dr. Tahereh Pazouki, the founder and CEO of Magrid, and Prince Louis, who serves as an ambassador for the software, will participate in a signing ceremony. On November 14, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Curaçao and Magrid, launching a pilot project in selected primary and special education schools across the island. The aim is to eventually make the application accessible to all children in the education system, enhancing their learning experience and cognitive development.
