WILLEMSTAD – On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Curaçao Detention and Correction Center (SDKK) hosted a visit from a delegation from the Netherlands. The delegation included the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security, David van Weel, along with his team, representatives from the Dutch office in Curaçao, and JER Sector Director, Reginald Römer.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the prison management team, its operations, and the needs of SDKK. The visit also included a guided tour of the facility.
During the tour, the delegation visited the Vocational Training Department (OVT), blocks 8a, 2, FOBA, the kitchen, the women’s department, and the new family visitation room. Additionally, the visitors had the opportunity to interact with clients participating in the reintegration program.
SDKK management expressed great satisfaction with the visit from the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security and his delegation.
