Local, | By Correspondent September 1, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Sports association Victory Boys has presented a plan to the Curaçao Parliament aimed at combining sports with after-school education and creating additional development opportunities for young people on the island.

Representatives of Victory Boys met on Monday, August 31, with Parliament’s Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Sports to discuss the initiative.

During the meeting, the organization presented its plans for a program in which sports would be combined with educational activities after regular school hours.

The initiative seeks to use sports not only as a recreational activity, but also as a tool to support the educational and personal development of Curaçao’s youth.

Following the presentation, members of the parliamentary committee questioned the Victory Boys representatives about the proposal and exchanged views on how such a program could benefit young people.

The discussions also focused on the possibilities for implementing the initiative and the role it could play in providing structured activities for children and teenagers outside regular school hours.

No decisions regarding implementation or government support were announced following the meeting.

The presentation gives Parliament an opportunity to further examine whether sports organizations can play a broader role in after-school education and youth development in Curaçao.
