Local | By Correspondent May 17, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - On Friday, June 9th, Veteran's Day will take place in Curaçao. It is a special day to honor and show appreciation for Dutch military personnel who have served in war zones or during peacekeeping operations. While Veteran's Day is annually celebrated in June in the Netherlands, there are also many veterans residing in the Caribbean region.

Brigadier General of Marines Frank Boots, the Commander of the Caribbean Naval Forces, intends to commemorate the veterans living in the Caribbean region on June 9th, in collaboration with the Veterans Association of Curaçao.

The event will take place from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Parera Naval Base in Curaçao. The dress code for actively serving veterans is Dress Uniform 16/16a/DT (Short), while non-active veterans may wear civilian attire or the uniform of the veterans' association. Veterans can register for the event until June 2nd at the latest.
