Venezuelan ship denied access to port

WILLEMSTAD - The Venezuelan training ship Simón Bolívar has been denied access to the port in Willemstad. According to the Minister of Defense of the South American country, Vladimir Padrino López, the Netherlands prevented the ship from entering the port. This information was reported by the Spanish news agency EFE.

Netherlands reportedly denied access to the port at the last moment. The ship was scheduled to arrive on July 3.

"This is another wrong step of the archaic and pernicious European arrogance," the minister wrote on the social network X, according to EFE. However, the minister did not specify whether a permit was initially granted and later revoked or if no permit was granted at all. Additionally, he accused the Netherlands of colonialism.

The training ship departed on April 20 to visit various islands in the region, and it docked at ports in Mexico, Colombia, and Honduras.
