ORANJESTAD - The oil spill at the El Palito refinery in Venezuela does not impact the ABC Islands. The Crisis Management Organization (CMO) reported this on Monday afternoon in Aruba. Following the recent incident at the El Palito refinery, where oil ended up in Bahía Morrocoy, the CMO, in collaboration with the port authorities of Curaçao, Bonaire, and the Rijkswaterstaat, has been closely monitoring the situation.
According to the CMO, current models show no indication of impact on the ABC Islands. Nevertheless, the team remains vigilant and continues to monitor the situation.
Although the current models do not predict any concrete impact on the ABC Islands, the combined team of CMO, port authorities, and Rijkswaterstaat will actively monitor and update the situation. Additional measures will be taken if necessary to minimize environmental impact.
