WILLEMSTAD – Venezuela has seen a substantial increase in exports to Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire during 2024, according to a report from the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Venezuelan port city La Vela de Coro. The data reveals a remarkable 31.55% rise in exports compared to the previous year.
In 2024, the total export volume from the port of Colina, located in the state of Falcón, amounted to 3,427 tons. Of this total, 68.77% was directed to Curaçao, equating to 2,357 tons. Aruba received 31.22% of the exports, which amounted to 1,070 tons.
Juan Gotopo, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, expressed optimism about future trade growth. For 2025, Venezuela anticipates a further 24% increase in exports from La Vela to the Caribbean islands of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The upward trend in trade reflects stronger economic ties between Venezuela and its neighboring Dutch Caribbean islands, with growing demand for Venezuelan products in the region.
