WILLEMSTAD - As part of Environment Week, which takes place from 17 to 24 October, the waste processing company Selikor is calling on residents of Curaçao to keep their neighborhood clean. Selikor further calls on people in a video on social media to pay extra attention this week to the consequences of our actions on the environment.
In the video, which can be seen on Facebook, local residents tell how important it is that you clean and keep your own neighborhood clean. With this they hope that more people will commit themselves to the environment. “If we all do our part to keep our island clean, we also increase the quality of life in our neighborhoods. We can only achieve a clean and beautiful Curaçao for ourselves and the tourists, "says the waste processing company.
Local residents also say that cleaning starts in your own street. “If you keep your own street clean, you keep the neighborhood clean and therefore also the island. This contributes to a feeling of pride," says a local resident. Another indicates that she likes to see her neighborhood clean: "If I see that my own neighborhood stays clean, I'm happy!" They also emphasize that Curaçao belongs to all of us and that we must take care of it together. They insist that if you are aware of keeping your neighborhood clean, you also stimulate the children at the same time.
