Urgent Appeal: No Drone Flights Allowed During Curaçao North Sea Jazz 2025

WILLEMSTAD – The Civil Aviation Authority of Curaçao has issued an urgent appeal to all drone users to refrain from flying drones in the Parasasa area during the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival 2025, taking place on August 28, 29, and 30.

Specifically, the restriction applies to the airspace above the World Trade Center (WTC), the Clarion Hotel, and, most importantly, over the performance area where internationally renowned artists will take the stage.

The measure is intended to ensure the safety of the thousands of people expected to attend the festival. Authorities warned that a malfunctioning drone could fall into the crowd, potentially causing injuries or damage to property.

To enforce safety, the government has declared an official no-fly zone over the WTC area. The restricted airspace covers a radius of 1.5 kilometers around the WTC and extends up to an altitude of 2,500 feet (750 meters).

The Civil Aviation Authority stresses that these precautions are necessary to guarantee public safety during one of the island’s largest cultural events.
