Update COVID-19 in Curaçao: “No new cases”

WILLEMSTAD - Today the government gave an update on what is going on in Curaçao concerning the coronavirus. This took place via streaming without any reporters present. Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath and Epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth were the only ones who spoke.

Dr. Gerstenbluth indicated that there are no new confirmed infections, but one case is still unclear. He warned to take the announced measures seriously.

“We keep repeating that the measures taken are important. This is not for fun, but to ensure that, as now, the virus remains contained.

Premier Rhuggenaath indicated that the world is changing, the growth of this virus is accelerating. “That is not happening here with us now, because we have it under control. I still see people who just go to public places, meet under the tree with a lot of people. Fortunately, I also see more people who do take their responsibility, like many restaurants that only have take-out. But listen to Dr. Gerstenbluth, take it seriously, no one immune for this virus,” said the premier.
