WILLEMSTAD – The Traffic and Transport Service (UOVV) has released a summary of key figures for 2024, highlighting increases in new vehicle registrations, inspection results, and issued permits.
New Vehicle Registrations
In 2024, a total of 9,656 new vehicles were registered. Of these, 8,312 vehicles underwent an initial inspection at the time of registration.
Vehicle Transfers
A total of 8,044 vehicles were transferred from one owner to another during the year.
Vehicle Inspection Results
The results of vehicle inspections for 2024 are as follows:
51,336 vehicles passed on the first inspection.
4,572 vehicles passed after re-inspection.
957 vehicles were rejected.
4,953 vehicles had an expired inspection certificate.
Issued Permits
Various types of permits were granted in 2024:
76 permits for small buses and 6 auxiliary driver permits for buses.
36 taxi permits and 52 co-driver permits for taxis.
9 TW permits.
Special Exemptions
Additional exemptions were granted for various transportation needs:
71 exemptions for school transportation.
45 exemptions for public transportation services.
157 exemptions for dark-tinted windshields.
10 exemptions under WVVC regulations.
