Local | By Correspondent January 28, 2025

WILLEMSTAD The International Tourism & Hospitality Management (IH&TM) program at the University of Curaçao (UoC) has received a positive assessment from the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO), confirming its compliance with international quality standards. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the program.

According to an external review panel, IH&TM excels in areas such as testing, examinations, and the competency level of its graduates. Pamela Rusch, the program director, highlighted the importance of this recognition, stating that it affirms the program’s ability to provide a solid foundation for future professionals in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Students of the program are also showcasing their talents beyond the classroom. Recently, third-year students organized the third edition of the Pitch & Connect speed-networking event, bringing together 14 industry companies. First- and second-year students had the opportunity to explore potential internships and establish valuable professional connections.

With a revamped curriculum, IH&TM now offers students the chance to study abroad for four months in countries such as Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This international experience not only broadens their knowledge but also helps them build a global network.

Rusch emphasized that the dedication of the students and strong partnerships with industry stakeholders are crucial to the program’s ongoing success.
