WILLEMSTAD - Students from the University of Curaçao (UoC) have achieved remarkable success, earning prizes at the 'Next Student Summit' held in Ghent, Belgium. UoC has announced that these accomplished students belong to the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences as well as the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

The 'Next Student Summit' serves as a platform for students from diverse nations to showcase their sustainable ideas and solutions concerning the environment. Participants actively engaged in exploring potential methods to reduce waste. The Curaçao students demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation, leading them to win prizes in the categories of 'most creative' and 'most innovative'. Furthermore, they were honored as the overall winners of the event.
Throughout their journey, the students received guidance from two UoC scientists. Following the summit, their exploration continued in the Netherlands, where they delved into discussions surrounding the energy transition, a significant challenge for Curaçao. Through various excursions, the students gained valuable insights into elements that can contribute to making Curaçao a more sustainable island.
