WILLEMSTAD – The weekend will start with unstable weather conditions on Curaçao and the other ABC islands. Showers, with the possibility of thunderstorms, are expected on Friday and potentially on Saturday.
Rising Humidity and Atmospheric Instability
According to the Meteorological Department, humidity levels will gradually increase from the south on Friday. A disturbance in the atmosphere will create instability, influencing weather patterns across the region.
Temperatures and Winds
Daytime highs are forecast to reach 33°C (91°F), while nighttime lows will hover around 27°C (81°F). Lighter winds will make it feel warmer than usual.
Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 2 to 3 Beaufort (7–19 km/h), occasionally gusting up to force 4 (20–30 km/h).
Localized Heavy Showers Possible
Some showers may become locally heavy, with a chance of thunderstorms and lightning. Sunrise is expected at 6:25 a.m., with sunset at 6:34 p.m.
Sea conditions will remain generally calm, with wave heights between 0.5 and 1 meter, favorable for fishing and water sports.
No Threat from Tropical Storm Gabrielle
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Gabrielle is moving northwestward over the open North Atlantic Ocean and poses no threat to the ABC islands.
The Meteorological Department expects improving conditions by Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and little to no rainfall.
