Unsettled Weather Ahead for Curaçao With Local Showers and Possible Thunderstorm

Local | By Correspondent November 26, 2025

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao can expect partly to mostly cloudy skies and unsettled conditions through Thursday midday, with a chance of local showers and even a slight possibility of a thunderstorm, according to the latest forecast issued Wednesday morning by the Meteorological Department.

Temperatures will range from a high of 31°C to a low of 26°C. Sunrise on Thursday will be at 06:39, with sunset at 18:08.

Windy Conditions Around Showers

Winds will remain easterly, blowing at gentle to moderate levels—Force 3 to 4 (12 to 30 km/h). However, gusts may increase to fresh or even strong (Force 5 to 6, up to 50 km/h) in and around showers due to atmospheric instability.

A tight pressure gradient will help maintain these moderate easterly winds throughout the forecast period.

Moisture and Instability Driving Cloud Development

The forecasters note that sufficient moisture remains over the region, fueling significant cloud buildup and contributing to local showers over the island. While the chance is low, a brief thunderstorm cannot entirely be ruled out.

Moderate Seas North of the Island

Sea conditions are expected to remain moderate, with waves between 1 and 2 meters (3 to 6 feet). The highest waves will occur mainly north of Curaçao, occasionally reinforced by incoming swells.

No Tropical Systems Active

Meteorologists confirm there are no significant tropical weather systems affecting the region at this time.

Outlook to Friday

Conditions are expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy, with more frequent showers, especially during the morning hours on Friday.
