WILLEMSTAD - In recent weeks, multiple teams from the Uniek Curaçao Foundation have been engaged in maintenance and restoration activities in areas and facilities under the care of the foundation. This was reported by the organization on Monday on its website.
The jungle bridge at Parke Sorsaka/Den Dunki has been temporarily removed for major maintenance. In addition, the play equipment has been repaired, and routine maintenance has been carried out. At Watamula, work is being done to clear overgrowth in the coastal plain, and in Fontein, the parking lot near Color Place has been prepared for walkers to access, among other places, the ruins of Fort Kloof.
Work was also conducted at Ascencion. The north route of Ascencion was maintained, and at Sint Michiel, the flamingo trail was pruned. The surroundings of Fort Beekenburg were also addressed: improvements to the area around the fort are ongoing each week, and the area around the Quarantine building has been pruned.
