WILLEMSTAD – Police arrested a man shortly before 1:00 a.m. last night at Hato International Airport after he was found to be illegally residing on the island. Airport security personnel spotted the man wandering in the parking area and approached him to investigate. 

According to authorities, the man expressed a desire to return to his home country. He was found to be a Colombian national but did not possess any form of identification. He was immediately detained and handed over to the Immigration Service, which will arrange for his deportation. 

The incident highlights ongoing efforts by immigration and airport authorities to monitor unauthorized presence at key entry and exit points on the island.
