WILLEMSTAD - Two men assaulted immigration officers at Curaçao's Hato Airport on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. while the officers were performing their duties, according to the Curaçao Police Force. Both men were arrested following the altercation.
The confrontation began when the men were reprimanded for their inappropriate behavior while waiting in line at the immigration desk. One of the men physically attacked an officer, while the other also became involved by confronting a second officer.
The police arrested both men and handed them over to a public prosecutor, who has ordered their detention. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
