MARAKESH - The court in Morocco has sentenced two Curacao residents to death for a mistaken murder in café La Crème in Marrakech in November 2017.

The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf is talking about Dutch people, but it concerns two Yu di Kòrsou: 31-year-old Shardyone Semeleer and 27-year-old Edwin Martina. They were hired to kill an arch enemy of Ridouan Taghi in Marrakech, but accidentally shot and killed the son of a high Moroccan judge.
The intended victim was the Moroccan Dutchman Mustapha el F, alias Moes, who had changed chairs shortly before the attack and thus escaped death.
The Moroccan court sentenced a number of other Moroccans with a Dutch passport to long prison terms of six to twenty years.
The death penalty has not been enforced in Morocco since 1993. However, this sentence does mean that a suspect could no longer serve his sentence in the Netherlands. The two Curaçaoans have appealed in cassation.
