WILLEMSTAD - The Tula Foundation announces that on August 31, Curaçao will also commemorate the International Day for People of African Descent. This day, established by the United Nations, aims to highlight the contributions and issues of all ethnic groups with African roots, whether they reside in Africa or elsewhere. This year's international theme is: Recognition, Justice, and Development.
The Tula Museum will host a diverse program featuring debates and discussions, a market, and demonstrations in various fields. The event starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.
The program will include food, various crafts, Curaçaoan delicacies, and more. The debates will cover topics such as the "Decade for People of African Descent" starting in 2025, and Curaçao's role as the host of a major meeting of African leaders in 2026. There will also be hourly demonstrations between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
