WILLEMSTAD - A tropical wave en route to the Caribbean is expected to pass north of the ABC Islands, according to radar images from the National Hurricane Center and reports from the Meteorological Service of Curaçao.
After moving past the ABC Islands, the system is anticipated to continue traveling westward and northwestward across the Caribbean. The National Hurricane Center forecasts that the disturbance could reach the region by the middle or end of next week. This weather system is bringing rain and thunderstorms, and there is a 40% chance it could develop into a hurricane.
In addition, a second tropical disturbance is forming near the African coast. This system has a 20% chance of developing into a hurricane within the week and is moving slowly toward the Caribbean.
