WILLEMSTAD - Kooyman and Great Plastic Bake Off (GPBO) have teamed up in a joint effort to combat plastic waste in Curaçao and Bonaire.
Under the banner of Fuse Caribbean, these companies are collaborating to recycle plastic into cost-effective and sustainable materials known as EkoDuro. The locally-produced products will be available for purchase at Kooyman stores, ranging from patio decking to beach and outdoor furniture.
This project aligns with Kooyman's environmentally-conscious strategy and commitment to sustainable development. The company's CEO emphasizes that this initiative will significantly contribute to the reduction of plastic waste on the islands.
GPBO, a Netherlands-based company, specializes in the development and installation of modular factories dedicated to transforming plastic waste into building materials.
Although the exact commencement date for this green initiative is yet to be determined, its potential for positive impact is eagerly anticipated.
