WILLEMSTAD - A devastating incident occurred on Nijmegenstraat, resulting in the loss of two lives. The victims of the tragic event were a mother and her daughter.
Late Wednesday night, the fire departments of Mundo Nobo and Rio Canario received an urgent call reporting a house fire. Upon the arrival of the police and firefighters, the residence was already engulfed in flames. Regrettably, the mother and her daughter were trapped inside the house and could not escape in time, potentially due to their use of wheelchairs.
The police physician confirmed the unfortunate demise of both the woman and her daughter. Presently, forensic investigators are diligently working to determine the cause of this devastating fire.
