WILLEMSTAD - In preparation for the Kaya Kaya Festival on August 24, 2024, several traffic measures will be implemented on August 23 in the Frederikstraat and surrounding areas. From 5:00 PM until midnight, Frederikstraat will be closed to vehicles to allow for festival preparations.
Road Closures and Detours:
Frederikstraat: This street will be completely closed to traffic from Breedestraat. Only residents, vendors, Kaya Kaya team members, production personnel, and individuals with a valid car pass or festival pass will be allowed access to the area.
Witteweg: Traffic from Witteweg will be diverted to Rembrandtweg. There will be no access to Frederikstraat from this route.
Arubastraat: Traffic from Arubastraat will not be able to enter Frederikstraat and will be redirected to Witteweg.
Visitors and residents are advised to take these closures and detours into account to ensure a smooth setup for the festival. The Kaya Kaya Festival promises to once again be a spectacular celebration of art, culture, and music, with many artists, food trucks, and activities planned in the heart of the city.
