WILLEMSTAD – A traffic accident involving a car and a bus on Winston Churchillweg has resulted in the arrest of a man from Guyana who was residing illegally on the island, according to the Curaçao Police Force.
Police officers conducted a routine check at the scene and determined that the man lacked valid residency documents. He was handed over to the immigration authorities and has been detained pending deportation for violating the Admission and Expulsion Ordinance.
Both vehicles involved in the accident were towed to the Mahuma impound lot, and it was found that neither driver had valid documentation.
