Trade union federations to meet with Pisas

Local | By Correspondent October 13, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The union federations will meet on Wednesday afternoon with Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas about scrapping the 12.5 percent cut on civil servants' salaries.

The three union federations CGTC, SSK and SSS met on Saturday with the six trade unions for public sector workers. According to the union federations, this resulted in worrying reports, because there were a lot of conditions and no clear agreement yet. The six civil servant unions indicated that they do not know where they stand.

Last week, the Council of Ministers agreed to the relaxation, but before it can be implemented, the country must meet three conditions. The standardization law for top incomes, the budget for 2023 must be adopted and the holiday pay in 2023 must be paid out, depending on the liquidity position of Curaçao.
