WILLEMSTAD – A Dutch tourist was injured Monday afternoon after a fall in the salt pans of Jan Thiel. Emergency services were called to rescue her from a precarious situation.
The woman had been standing atop a rock in the salt pans when she suffered an unfortunate fall. Unable to climb back on her own from the ravine where she landed, she required assistance.
The Montaña police, an ambulance team, and fire department personnel responded to the scene. Working together, police and firefighters managed to reach the woman and transport her to the waiting ambulance.
Although she sustained bruises and scratches and was in considerable shock, the woman is reportedly in stable condition.
