WILLEMSTAD – A female tourist was indecently touched by two boys in the Pietermaai district this Sunday, prompting a swift response from the Curaçao Police, who later had the suspects apologize to the victim.
According to the police, the woman was found visibly upset and in tears just before noon in Pietermaai. She told officers that while walking through a narrow street in the area, two boys had inappropriately touched her from behind before fleeing the scene.
Police quickly launched a search and located the two boys near Plasa Bieu, where they were stopped and questioned.
No Formal Charges, But Clear Message Delivered
The tourist chose not to press charges, but officers managed to have the boys apologize directly to the woman. The police also issued a stern warning to the minors, making it clear that their immoral actions were unacceptable and could have serious legal consequences.
Authorities emphasized that such behavior is not tolerated and reassured the public—especially visitors—that measures are in place to protect everyone on the island.
