Three-Year-Old Boy Rushed to Hospital After Near-Drowning at Marie Pampoen

 

WILLEMSTAD – A three-year-old child was rushed to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) over the weekend after ingesting a large amount of seawater near the pier at Marie Pampoen.

Police and ambulance services responded quickly to an emergency call and found the boy in critical condition. According to initial reports, the child had been playing in the water with several other children when he suddenly disappeared beneath the surface and did not resurface.

Alert bystanders noticed the situation, pulled the child from the water, and immediately began resuscitation efforts while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Paramedics provided urgent medical care on the scene and managed to stabilize the boy before transporting him swiftly to CMC for further treatment.

Police confirmed they are conducting an investigation into the incident.
