WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao is set to receive three new ambulances. The American company First Priority Group will supply the ambulances worth 1.3 million guilders. This was announced by the Ambulance Care Foundation (FKA) in a press release.
FKA stated that out of 27 ambulance companies, two companies, Demers Ambulances and First Priority Group, remained in the final selection. A committee consisting of four ambulance drivers with technical expertise ultimately chose First Priority Group.
Minister of Health Javier Silvania stated that his ministry will pay for the ambulances next week. Last month, the minister initially rejected the purchase of three ambulances, citing concerns about the transparency of the tendering process.
The ambulances are expected to be delivered in seven months.
