Three judges sworn in appeal Ennia case

WILLEMSTAD - In the appeal of Ennia's liability proceedings against the former directors of the insurance company, three judges were sworn in as deputy members of the court on Monday. This is reported by the Common Court of Justice.  

 

 

The President of the Court Mauritsz de Kort swore in Marianne Tillema, who is also a senior justice of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, Patrick van Geloven, who is also a senior justice of the 's-Hertogenbosch Court of Appeal and Henk Wattel, who is also a senior justice of the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal is. 

 

Tillema and Wattel have previously been members of the Court. These three judges are specially charged with the Ennia case.  

 

The Ennia case concerns Hushang Ansary, who was sentenced almost a year and a half ago, together with his daughter, ex-executive directors, and supervisory directors, to pay hundreds of millions to more than a billion guilders in damages.  

 

On Monday morning, the appeal started with Ansary's plea and on Monday afternoon it was the turn of his daughter, former Ennia commissioner Nina Ansary.
