WILLEMSTAD – Police have arrested three young men in connection with the February 16 shooting at the Curaçao Airport Dome. The incident caused panic among attendees, who attempted to flee in chaos. In addition to the arrests, two firearms were seized.
On Friday, February 23, detectives conducted a house search at Kaya Adamawa, leading to the arrest of M.J.E.B. (22) and D.D.S.H. (20), both Curaçao-born, on suspicion of violating firearm laws. During the search, police confiscated the two firearms.
Later that evening, an 18-year-old suspect, R.C.N., voluntarily turned himself in to the police. He was immediately arrested on suspicion of public violence and assault. The three suspects have since been brought before a judicial officer, who ordered their pretrial detention while the investigation continues.
The shooting occurred during a concert at the Curaçao Airport Dome. Witnesses reported that a fight broke out before the gunshots, causing panic in the crowd. Many attendees tried to exit the venue but struggled to open emergency doors.
