Thodé has little chance at Supreme Court

WILLEMSTAD - Former Member of Parliament Amerigo Thodé has little chance of winning his cassation case. The Attorney General states that there was indeed a legal basis for the ruling against the MFK politician on appeal.

Thode received a conditional fine for leaking confidential information from a closed committee meeting.

Thodé argued before the Supreme Court that the Rules of Order of Parliament are not a legal regulation and that he can rely on freedom of expression. But that is not true, according to the Attorney General. The conviction remains.
