WILLEMSTAD – Police on Curaçao have arrested a third suspect in connection with the high-profile burglary at United Distributors that took place in late December 2024. The latest arrest was made on Monday morning, when a 28-year-old Venezuelan man was taken into custody.
This brings the total number of arrests in the case to three. A 24-year-old man from Curaçao and a 30-year-old Jamaican national had already been arrested earlier in March and April, respectively.
The burglary, which occurred at a warehouse on Asteroidenweg, unfolded over four consecutive days—between December 28 and 31—when thieves repeatedly entered the facility through the roof. Large quantities of high-end liquor, including boxes of Old Parr and Black Label whisky, were stolen during the break-ins.
Curaçao police had previously called on the public to provide information that might help solve the case. The coordinated arrests suggest that the investigation is making significant progress, but authorities say further arrests cannot be ruled out at this stage.
The case has attracted considerable public attention due to the organized nature of the crime and the high value of the stolen goods. Police continue to investigate whether more individuals were involved in the theft.
