Third day in a row code yellow due to extreme heat

WILLEMSTAD - The Meteorological Service Curaçao (Meteo) issued a code yellow for extreme heat on Thursday for the third day in a row. The weather warning is in effect at least until 15.30 in the afternoon.

According to the weather services, the heat is due to the loss of the wind. The decrease in winds is due to the presence of a disturbance in the region, which also leads to southerly winds causing even more warm temperatures.

At the Spanish water, the temperature almost reached 46 degrees on Tuesday. Temperatures above 40 degrees were also recorded on Wednesday.

The Meteo warns of the effects of the heat, such as heat stroke, cramps, fatigue or even a stroke. The weather service advises anyone who performs outdoor activities to drink plenty of water and to avoid extra exertion.
