WILLEMSTAD - The theft of copper electrical cables is once again becoming a growing issue. Over the past month, several cases of theft have been discovered in different locations, as reported by Aqualectra in a press release.
The cable thefts primarily occur in remote, less populated areas. Aqualectra states that the perpetrators show no concern for households left without electricity until Aqualectra can restore the power supply.
Areas recently affected by cable theft include Pannekoek, Seru Machu, Zuid Choloma, and Sabana.
Aqualectra has announced that the company will collaborate with the police to take action against the thieves and urges the community to assist by reporting any suspicious situations or vehicles involved in these thefts.
