WILLEMSTAD - The test with a new type of guard rail officially started yesterday. The so-called Roller Barriers must eventually replace the traditional guardrail.

The traditional guardrails do not last long on the island and are therefore expensive to maintain. This test must demonstrate that it can be cheaper and also safer.

This is now being tested on a 200-meter stretch on the bypass at the Juliana Bridge in the direction of Otrobanda.
