THE HAGUE – Tensions at the Curaçaohuis in The Hague continue to mount following reports of internal misconduct. The situation has escalated with the resignation of the acting director, further fueling concerns about the institution's working environment.
The ABVO civil servants union has sent an official letter to Minister Plenipotentiary Carlson Manuel (MFK) requesting a meeting to address the growing unrest within the organization.
According to union sources, there is a climate of fear among employees, with reports of intimidation directed at staff who speak out critically. These concerns are said to align with earlier media coverage, describing internal chaos and broken working relationships at the Curaçaohuis.
“So far, the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary has not responded substantively,” the union stated.
The ABVO is urging for transparency and accountability, warning that the situation could further deteriorate if leadership continues to remain silent. The resignation of the acting director underscores the urgency of the matter, as questions grow around the internal management and the protection of staff welfare.
As the Curaçaohuis serves as the official representation of Curaçao in the Netherlands, the unfolding developments are likely to attract more scrutiny, both in The Hague and back on the island.
