WILLEMSTAD - In the World Trade Center (WTC), the 'soft opening' took place of a number of office spaces in which employees of the Tax Inspectorate and Collector will work. In this way, the wish for the tax authorities to become more centralized again is fulfilled.

On August 22, 2019, a fire was set in the tax office at Regentesselaan. Since then, the various departments of the tax office have been spread across the island. According to Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha, better service can be provided if the employees are together. He is therefore pleased with the new location.

Gijsbertha also indicated that important steps have been taken in the process for a new IT system for the tax office. He did not set a target date yet, but said it looked good in terms of introducing a new, faster-operating automatic system.
