WILLEMSTAD – The Social Insurance Bank (SVB) and the Curaçao International Clinic (CIC) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at improving access to orthopedic care for SVB-insured patients, with a particular focus on knee replacement surgeries.
As of April 1, the agreement allows patients to receive these specialized treatments locally at CIC, thanks to the arrival of two experienced orthopedic surgeons. Previously, such procedures were only available at the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).
The partnership is centered on providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality medical care. Both institutions emphasize that the well-being of insured patients is their top priority and that this initiative represents a meaningful step forward in enhancing the island’s healthcare services.
The agreement is expected to reduce waiting times, lower the pressure on the CMC, and give patients more choice in where they receive care.
