WILLEMSTAD - This morning, the suspects in the Boechi murder case were transported from Bonaire to Curaçao on a DiviDivi flight. The suspects were in pretrial detention at the prison in Bonaire. The individuals involved are Churendi C. and the main suspect, Chris Z.
Churendi C. was arrested in the Netherlands on April 7. On April 26, authorities in Curaçao arrested the second individual in this case, Chris Z. He was apprehended at a residence on Mexicoweg in Seru Fortuna.
Murder
Ruchendell 'Boechi' Windster was fatally shot on December 9 of last year on Rooseveltweg. He hailed from Tilburg, Netherlands, performed music in Papiamentu, and was in Curaçao for performances. The murder took place after a show in Santa Maria.
It is alleged that 24-year-old Chris Z. fired the shots. The second suspect, Churendy C., was reportedly the driver of the car used by Chris Z. to flee the scene.
Pretrial Hearing
A team from the prison and an arrest unit accompanied the suspects during the flight. They were transported to the detention center in two jeeps.
The case will be provisionally addressed tomorrow in a so-called pretrial hearing. During this hearing, a date for the full trial will be determined. Any defense requests for further investigation will be presented to the judge. It is possible that the defense lawyers will request the lifting of the provisional detention.
