WILLEMSTAD - Suriname President Chandrikapersad Santokhi has emphasized the crucial role of the Surinamese diaspora community in strengthening relations between Suriname and Curaçao. In a recent statement, Santokhi highlighted the significance of these ties.
The Prime Minister is currently on a working visit to Curaçao on Tuesday and Wednesday. During his visit, he met with Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, Governor Lucille George-Wout, and members of the Surinamese community in Curaçao.
On Tuesday, the ‘Diaspora Institute Curaçao’ was officially launched. The institute aims to promote collaboration with the Diaspora Institute Suriname and provide a platform for more active engagement with the Surinamese community.
